North Quay / Liisanpuistikko Park
North Quay is the eastern border of the district of Kruununhaka
in Jugend-Romantic style, Liisanpuistikko Park the strip of
green between Maneesikatu and Liisankatu. On the northern
edge of the park is the Military Museum, in former military
barracks.
An embankment leads from Pohjoisranta to Tervasaari recreation
area. North Quay also has anchorage for historical wooden
ships and is nowadays the site of dancing and other events.
There is a good view from the North Quay across to the Katajanokka
headland, the North Harbour, and the Greek Orthodox Uspenski
Cathedral. Katajanokka divides Helsinki harbour into North
and South.
